The website I built for an upcoming forum on the history of Civil Rights in South Carolina went live today. I’m pretty proud of it, I think I did a pretty decent job. I think it’s OKAY. Check it out, drop me some feedback ?

Was looking for some files on my computer and found these old science posters I made when I first graduated college. Still think some of them are pretty rad.
update. added more color, and more pop cultural elements as well as tried to up the amount of analytics imagery (bar graph skyline, moon as a pie chart)
debating replacing lady gaga with someone else, and unsure about wether i should try to warp the women infront of the warhal and the Vietnam protestor to contour with the page more.
should probably reposition the cdh.sc.edu url to actually line up with *something*
time to get serious about this job hunt, which i think means making a more professional website. or, at least one that’s easier to update. did some pre-planning this afternoon and am giving some thought to splitting it up into two pages.
one would be a standard freelance portfolio site with examples of design work etc. while the other would be kind of a living collage of my life presented in say a more professional way than this (my tumblr)
weighing my options, playing around with ideas for the tones of both sites. and toying with the idea of having them just be different sections of the same site that you get to from a splash landing page.
above is a mockup of what that page could look like using the two possible tones i’m kicking around in this very initial stage of planning. you’d click on the word and the relavent pane would slide into focus revealing the actual content.
the obvious problem with that being that splash pages are so 2004 and there’s no smart way (that i’ve come up wtih yet) to indicate who’s website it is.
ho hum.
Made this event poster for my murder mystery dinner party next weekend. Really like the way the texture on the title turned out.
